Service for a General: Frank J. Warnke

Lt. Governor Brad Owen served as master of ceremonies for the Nov. 10 memorial service for former state Senator and Past Commanding General Frank J. Warnke, who died Sept. 28 at the age of 78.

Besides the lieutenant governor, speakers included three former Senate colleagues, the president of the Association Frank J. Warnkeof Washington Business and two longtime employees of the Public Schools Employee of Washington SEIU 1948, which Warnke headed for many years. 

The service was opened by an "echo bell" salute presented by by the Association of Washington Generals, for which Warnke served as commanding general. A reception followed in the Columbia Room of the Legislative Building.
