AWG invited to the annual State of the State Consular Reception in Capitol on Jan. 10

Lt. Governor Brad Owen has invited members of the Association of Washington Generals to  the annual consular reception at the state's Capitol on Jan. 10.

The annual reception is to honor members of the Consular Association of Washington, who are recognized later in the day at the governor's State of the State address in the chamber of the House of Representatives.

Commanding General Bill Sperry issued a the lieutenant governor's invitation to the Generals via email, noting that the organization will be serving in its role as "ambassadors of goodwill" on behalf of the state of Washington.

The reception begins at 10 a.m. in the Senate Rules Room on the second floor of the Legislative Building (the formal name for the Capitol building).  Board members were also invited to stay after the reception to view the State of the State address in the lieutenant governor's office. This is also the day of the AWG board meeting, which has been rescheduled to 1:30 p.m. in the Rules Room due to the conflict with the reception.

Refreshements will be served at the event.
